Trading Standards Update

Trading Standards are aware that the rollout of the Covid-19 vaccine is providing criminals with an opportunity to trick people into booking/paying for a vaccination appointment. If you receive a text urging you to click on a link or if you receive an automated call prompting you to press a number to arrange a booking, then this is likely to be a scam, even if they claim to be from the NHS.  The COVID-19 vaccination is only available through the NHS to eligible groups and it is a free vaccination.  This is the link to further information from the government about the eligible groups and waiting for the vaccine:

The following link takes you to some information and advice from Action Fraud, with regards to the buying of puppies:

Trading Standards urge people to do their research before buying a puppy and make sure that if they do view a puppy that the mother is with the puppies.  If the seller says that they are a breeder, ask them if they are licensed and if they say that they are, then ask to see their licence.  If you have any doubts or concerns, then walk away and let Trading Standards know on 0808 223 1133.
