Milton Keynes Libraries have been looking at new ways of working to help our customers during these difficult times, and we’re thrilled to announce our free new ‘Click and Collect’ service.

Library customers can select and reserve books online and through a safe and controlled system, we’ll prepare your order for collection from one of the nine libraries. You’ll be contacted when they are ready, and you can collect them from the Central Library on Monday to Friday between 10am – 4.30pm or from Central and all branch libraries on a Saturday 10am-1pm. If you’re coming to Central Library, just ring the bell at the front door and your order will be made available for you to pick up – at a safe distance of course – in the collection area. For all other collection points, we will be waiting to greet you when you arrive.

We’re also offering a special ‘Pick and Mix’ book selection. This service can be requested for both adult and younger readers – including baby books, picture books and children’s non-fiction books on particular topics. We’ll put together a selection of books based on the information you provide when you request ‘Pick and Mix’ – things like favourite authors, type of book or the child’s age and interests. We’ll let you know when your books are ready for collection.

You can safely return your books during the ‘Click and Collect’ sessions. Remember that you can return books to any of the libraries, regardless of where they were issued. You can also use the drop box at Central Library Monday to Friday between 10 am and 4.30 pm. If you can’t make it to one of the library sessions, you can return books using the letterboxes at Newport Pagnell, Bletchley, Woburn Sands, Stony Stratford and Central Libraries at any time.

If you’re not already a member of Milton Keynes Libraries – it’s free to join! You can join online and begin borrowing straightaway using ‘Click and Collect’ and our online digital resources (including eBooks and eAudiobooks).

The Click and Collect service incorporates strict measures to protect you and the community. Returned books are quarantined and handled with protective equipment. We will make every effort to ensure your safety, but this service is used entirely at your own risk.
