Policies are written documents that explain how the Parish Council works and how decisions are made. They set out agreed rules, procedures, and standards that guide the Council’s actions and help ensure consistency, fairness, and transparency.
Our policies cover a wide range of areas, including governance, finance, employment, health and safety, equality, data protection, and how we communicate with residents. Some policies are required by law, while others reflect best practice and local priorities.
By adopting and regularly reviewing policies, the Parish Council ensures that it:
All policies are approved by the Parish Council at a formal meeting and are reviewed periodically to ensure they remain up to date and relevant. Where appropriate, policies are made available to the public to support openness and understanding of how the Council operates.
If you have any questions about a specific policy, please contact the Parish Clerk, clerk@oldwoughton.org.uk, who will be happy to help.
