Bin Survey 2025

There is growing frustration in Woughton Park, in particular, caused by the misuse of the litter bin by the towpath at bridge 90b. Despite being emptied weekly, like all OWPC bins, it is almost constantly overflowing even within 48 hours of being emptied. There are the usual bottles and cans, of course, but very often multiple poo bags of the same colour, as well materials that look very much boat-related.

OWPC, therefore, has decided to invite views about possible solutions and although this exercise has been prompted by Bin no. 3, there may well be similar issues across the whole Parish and so all views are very much welcomed. Please complete the below survey to help us understand provision in your area – we don’t necessarily need a name, but it will obviously be helpful if you can provide a Bin no. and your grid square to help us pinpoint the issue.

Did you know? It costs OWPC £2.50 per bin for each weekly collection, which is met from Precept in your Council Tax. Boat users pay their licence fees to the Canal & River Trust, which provides bulk skips at Leighton Buzzard to the south and Linford to the north.

Survey results will be published in the Autumn edition of Old Woughton News and outcomes will be taken into consideration for next year’s Parish budget.
