Bat Boxes
As a result of the 2019 Ward Projects initiative (for further details see here) one of the suggestions for Woughton on the Green was the provision of bird and owl boxes had also been suggested. The team met with The Parks Trust and its Bio-diversity expert and we were advised that the owl boxes already in place in the parklands are not being used as there are lots of natural ‘homes’ locally. However, there is a need for bat boxes, as the area has a rich population (5 different species!), which would benefit from support. Six bat boxes (2 types) have now been bought and four of which have been placed near the ‘Water Gardens’ and the other two near the old pond North of the Church.
