Temporary Redway Closure Notice

Please be advised that Milton Keynes Council will be closing the following lengths of redway from 4th September 2016.

 CLOSURE DETAILS

 REASON FOR CLOSURES:

  •  Works to the Canal Footbridge (To allow parapet replacements to be installed)

(The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will therefore be made under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984)

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: 

  • 4th September 2016 – 4thOctober 2016

 LENGTH OF REDWAY TO BE CLOSED:

  • Tinkers Bridge Redway– At its junction with the Grand Union Canal including the footbridge and 10 metres either side

Whilst the above length of redway is closed the alternative route will be via the redway that runs adjacent to V8 Marlborough Street, the redway that runs adjacent to H8 Standing Way and the Newport Road footpath (and vice versa).

Please be advised that the road closure and alternative routes will be signed in accordance with Chapter 8 of the Signs Manual.

There will be no exemptions from the provisions except for emergency service vehicles and military vehicles on operational duties

In celebration of Her Majesty Queen ‘s 90th year Living Archive Milton Keynes have released the seventh edition in their Wolverton On Film series. This unique film tells the story of generations of craftsmen and women in Wolverton and their unique relationship with successive generations of the Royal Family whose train they have produced, maintained and staffed for nearly 150 years.
