The Patch Allotments
The site of the allotments was previously a sheep field known as the Patch and was farmed by Tony King. The site, which extends to three and a half hectares, is accessed via a main gate in Newport Road, Woughton-on-the-Green for cars and pedestrians, and a pedestrian gate set in the opposite (Western) boundary.
On site, 221 plots are laid out as at the beginning of 2016, plot sizes vary from 2 poles to 9 poles (1 pole being 25.3 sq. metres), tenancies run from October 1st to September 30th. The Patch is designated a class “A” allotment site having both water and a toilet. The toilet facility is of the compostable variety requiring treated sawdust rather than water. A mains water supply is piped round the site to ball-cock controlled troughs.
A group of tenants form the Patch Allotment Association and they have the use of a 20 foot shipping container as a shop and a further 20 foot and a 10 foot container for storage and for various pieces of machinery and spares.
If you would like to have an allotment, then please contact us directly by emailing allotments@oldwoughton.org.uk with your full name, address and other contact details. Plot allocations are prioritised according to the waiting list policy.
